GreatDomains Auction Ends, Few Names Sell

The previously announced one-week auction at GreatDomains ended today.

The low expectations I had for the auction turned out to be correct. While a few names did sell, the majority didn’t reach their reserve price. There’s no doubt that the sellers wanted exorbitantly high prices for their domains after they were certified as “premium” by GreatDomains.

Some notable sales include ancestry.pl for £6000 and sgbl.com for £11,766.

Based on the auction results, it’s clear that professional domainers simply don’t take GreatDomains seriously. The auction house had a good reputation nearly a decade ago but isn’t the top dog it once was.
