Apparently their buyers refused to pay up.

Toxic.com, which sold earlier this month for £37,389, is now back up for sale after the winning bidder backed out. The new auction is currently at £22,750 with 280 bidders and 2 days lefts to go.

It is despicable that NameJet is letting its customers do this. Regardless of the sale price, auctions are legally binding. Auction sites these days seem eager to cater to the buyer, yet are unwilling to protect the seller. People should think twice before placing a bid, and the site should do more to support seller’s rights.

Earlier today, domain news website The Domains reported that the name sold for £37,389 ($56,566 USD).

The sale apparently didn’t work out, however, as the name is currently listed at £6,609 ($9999.00 US). So far 276 bids have been placed.

Industry experts are watching the auction with interest. Toxic.com will likely sell for at least £35,000. For those unwilling to break the bank to buy a piece of Internet real estate, Toxic.net is also up for sale. After 153 bids, the price is at a meager £284 ($430 USD).

UPDATE: It looks like Toxic.com did indeed sell for £37,389 as The Domain reported. The winning bidder is “yakuza.” Toxic.net also sold for £1,921 ($2,900 USD).
