In an effort to show off its virtualization software, VMware has turned an eighteen-wheel truck into a mobile data center. Dubbed The VMware Express, it will travel around the United States and Canada, stopping at a number of locations to demo VMware.
The mobile facility contains equipment from Dell, Cisco, and a number of other manufacturers. No mention of how the servers will be powered has been made. VMware will likely either use generators installed on the truck or bring them in to events ahead of time.
Planned stops include New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Chicago, Houston, and Denver. Read more at VMware.com.
