Data centers have found a lot of creative ways to be eco-friendly over the years. They never cease to innovate. Now some server facilities are putting the heavy heat generated by servers, which has long been ignored as a nuisance, to use.
Take a look at data center firm Telecity, which uses its heat to warm an arboretum so that scientists can study the effects of climate change, for instance. In Switzerland, IBM is using one of its facilities to heat a pool! Other centers also use their waste warmth for heating buildings and water or to generate electricity.
