DNS Benchmark

There are a number of DNS services out there, including a new offering by Google. Considering all the options available, which one is best? As far as I’m concerned, it boils down to one thing: speed.

DNS Benchmark is a piece of Windows freeware that will measure the speed of your DNS servers and compare it with others. It will also recommend faster and more reliable alternatives when available.

Unfortunately, the free tool has no native Linux or Mac support, but the software can be run via the emulation software Wine.

Many people do not get the maximum performance out of their home or server connections because of slow DNS servers. This is especially true for home Internet services. So why not take DNS Benchmark for a spin and see if you can get a free speed boost from an alternative DNS provider?
