Payment.com sold at auction today for $250,000 USD. In addition, its plural partner, payments.com, was also purchased for $150,000. Currently no information on the buyer is available, but hopefully both names were bought by the same individual.
I think the seller might be bit disappointed. A name like payment.com has all sorts of potential applications. It could be used for a loan provider, a payment processing system, or even a debt collection service. I think it is worth $450,000- $800,000.
Sold together, the two domains might have actually gotten a higher price. Part of what made payments.com less attractive was knowing someone else could buy and develop payment.com that same day and vice versa.
Speaking of domain prices, domainappraisal.com also sold this afternoon for $52,000.
