Just in time for Christmas, ICANN has released its 2009 Annual Report. I guess jolly old Rod Beckstrom and his elves at ICANN are full of holiday cheer.

More information about the document can be found here. Let’s keep it simple and say it’s long and boring. Some things included are:

• Recent accomplishments
• Information about board members
• Financial data
• Executive salaries and other compensation

Why the organization chose to release such an important document on Christmas Eve when many in the domain industry are taking a break is a mystery to me. Obviously ICANN doesn’t want many people to see it, otherwise the report would have released during a normal work week. I suppose transparency can only go so far in Marina Del Rey.
